Synopsis

While searching for her missing mother, intrepid teen Enola Holmes uses her sleuthing skills to outsmart big brother Sherlock and help a runaway lord.

The Good

Enola Holmes is a very refreshing movie from Netflix. It brings a lot of joy and excitement on the screen. Millie Bobby Brown plays brilliantly this character. She gives a nuance of wit and confidence, which is perfect for this character. Her charisma makes this feature more alive. Your eyes are drawn to her every time she’s on the screen. This is a talent that a few actors have. The strongest aspect of this film is the production and setting. It is beautifully shot. Cinematography is on point, the colours are bright and the costumes are great. Pacing is great because you are rarely bored. As for the cast, Sam Claflin is great as Mycroft Holmes and Henry Cavill is alright as Sherlock. Enola Holmes is a good family movie about finding your own path in life. I recommend.

  • Great production.
  • Good performance from Millie Bobby Brown.
  • Entertaining.
  • Good pacing.

The Bad

The story is good don’t get me wrong, but it can get a little confusing sometimes because it’s moving at fast pace. Gets a while before we understand the main storyline. Also, there is no character development for the villain. He’s just there to chase on the good guys and that’s it. The casting of Sherlock and Mycroft is ok but I think it would’ve work best if it was the opposite in my opinion. Henry Cavill as Mycroft and Sam Claflin as Sherlock.

  • One dimensional villain.
  • Uneven story telling.
