Synopsis

The surviving Resistance faces the First Order once again as the journey of Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron continues. With the power and knowledge of generations behind them, the final battle begins.

The Good

Following the nightmare of a movie The last Jedi, this new installment offers quite a lot of action and decent lightsaber fights. We can immediately see that the story is a continuation of The Force Awakens and follows little from the previous one. The chemistry between the actors is good and brings a joyful feeling throughout the movie. Daisy Ridley’s performance as Rey is as usual acceptable. She has great presence on screen even though the script doesn’t give her much to say. Adam Driver does what he can with the material but still has a few good scenes. This conclusion of the Skywalker Saga is disappointing but the fast pace action will leave you entertain the entire movie.

  • Entertaining throughout the movie.
  • Decent performance from Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver.
  • Good special effects.

The Bad

Coherence is not a strong point in this. We can clearly see that the entire trilogy did not have a cohesive story and that everything was done along the way.  Star Wars rules are not respected especially with the Force. Story development was not on par with The Last Jedi. J.J Abrams contradicts and fixes a lot of key plot points established in the Ryan Johnson movie. This makes the movie very messy and incoherent. You can feel that they rushed a lot of things. It is a very disappointing ending to this saga that deserved better. Hope they have a clearer vision in the next trilogy…

  • Incoherent story.
  • Star Wars rules are not respected.
  • Pacing is too fast.
  • Bad dialogue.
  • Contradiction on plot points established in Star Wars The Last Jedi.
  • Easily forgettable movie.
