Natasha Romanoff, also known as Black Widow, confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.
Black widow finally gets her own movie. Scarlett Johansson is back as Black Widow, along with other new characters. We get to know more about the past life of Natasha Romanoff, and they did it quite well. The story is really easy to understand. Director Cate Shortland did a great job with this film. Cinematography is good, action scenes are great and dialogues are smart. Florence Pugh is a stand-out in this movie. She portrays Natasha Romanoff’s sister perfectly. She has great chemistry with Johansson and her acting is impeccable. I can say right now that she’s going to be important in future Marvel projects. Soundtrack is good as usual for a Marvel film. As for Scarlet Johansson, she delivers as always. Black Widow is a good time at the cinema for sure. I recommend.
Black Widow doesn’t feel necessary. It doesn’t change anything in the main storyline of Marvel films. It feels more like an excuse to introduce new characters. Also, Taskmaster is underused and his origin story is lame and doesn’t work at all in my opinion. The pacing of the second act could’ve been better. David Harbour’s character doesn’t do anything important. He doesn’t add any value to the story, instead he is just there making jokes. The main villain played by Ray Winstone is boring and is not memorable. Black Widow could’ve been a way better film if there were more scenes with Taskmaster.
