The Northman was one of my most anticipated movie in 2022. I’m glad to say that this movie didn’t disappoint. Director Robert Eggers manage to bring an epic viking vengeance story. The story is filled with Norse mythology references and some gruesome violence. The setting is similar to his previous movie The Witch and weird imagery similar to The Lighthouse. The gruesome violence might be too much for some. It is very graphic, but necessary to the story. Also, some scenes can be a little confusing, especially with the Norse mythology aspect.
