Synopsis

Frustrated by scrolling dating apps only to end up on lame, tedious dates, Noa takes a chance by giving her number to the awkwardly charming Steve after a produce-section meet-cute at the grocery store.

The Good

This newest film from Hulu is quite good. I wasn’t expecting much from this movie, but boy, was I surprised. This movie goes from left to right field very fast. Without any spoilers, let’s just say you won’t expect what’s coming. Sebastian gives a very good performance as Steve. Daisy Edgar-Jones is also decent in her role as well. The strong part of the movie is the story. The plot is slowly revealed as you witness disturbing key elements. You will be disturbed, but not too much. Good pacing and good production makes Fresh a good watch, but definitely not for the whole family. I still recommend.

  • Good story.
  • Good pacing.
  • Good performances.
  • Unexpected plot.

The Bad

Fresh may be too disturbing for some. This movie is aimed at thriller/horror fans. So beware if you are faint at heart. Also, the third act felt very rushed. Things happened so quickly, you feel they didn’t establish a proper ending. And finally, they didn’t explain much about the world surrounding the plot. It would’ve been great to see what this is all about for potential sequels.

  • Disturbing.
  • 3rd act is rushed.
  • Not enough info about this world.
