The story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind — and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.
Fallout is the newest series from Amazon Prime. It is based on the popular video game from Bethesda. Ella Purnell plays this main character in this dystopian story. She is very well cast as this naive Vault dweller. Her character arc throughout the season is very well done. You can see she did her homework about the game, which I think all actors should do when doing a video game adaptation. The production did a tremendous job creating accurate locations from the game. Also, let’s not forget Walton Goggins performance. He is the absolute standout in this first season. We can feel that he loves playing this character named The Ghoul. The story is well written as you follow 3 characters for the duration of the whole season. Fallout is well-paced and brilliantly acted story with fascinating characters. I recommend. Watch it.
Although the show is very well done, there are some flaws. Some plot holes are not explained in the first season. Maybe those will be address in future seasons. Also, the explicit gore is unnecessary. Some scenes are gruesome and can turn off some viewers. The quality of the story is so good that this kind of violence is gratuitous in my opinion.
