Jennifer Walters navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk.
This brand-new Marvel show is about Hulk’s cousin Jennifer Walters, who accidentally becomes a Hulk herself. This series is basically a comedy about the life of Jennifer Walters and her career as a lawyer. The show has an Ally McBeal vibe, which is different from other Marvel shows. Tatiana Maslany is perfectly cast as the main lead. She provides great acting and comedy timing. The production is good despite the drama surrounding the CGI of She-Hulk. I thought the VFX were good, and you quickly forget that She-Hulk is not real. There are some good action sequences, and The Hulk is always a great addition to anything Marvel made. She-Hulk is a fun show for the whole family. Can’t wait to see this character interact with other Marvel characters.
The show lacks good writing. There is no direction to the story. The first two episodes had good potential for the rest of the season. It quickly fell apart by the end. Also, the addition of Matt Murdock (Daredevil) to the story didn’t bring anything relevant. Other characters like Titania played by Jameela Jamil is a farce. Her character is completely useless and felt like time filler. She-Hulk needed a solid introduction about how to deal with these powers. They decided to focus on legal courtroom stuff and some cheap fourth wall comedy similar to Deadpool. The finale was a huge let-down also. The length of each episode was way too short. It would have been better to have longer episodes, with a total of 6 for the season, in my opinion. She-Hulk was a little disappointing. I expect more Hulk smash in the future.
