Four years after the events of Halloween in 2018, Laurie has decided to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. But when a young man is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that will force Laurie to finally confront the evil she can’t control, once and for all.
The concluding chapter of the Halloween series is here. I was excited to see Michael Myers final showdown. This time, the story takes place four years after the events of Halloween Kills. Jamie Lee Curtis is of course back as Laurie and always gives a good performance. She has way more screen time than the last movie. The casting overall is decent, and the tone still has this John Carpenter-ish vibe. Halloween Ends gives a nice nod to previous Halloween movies. If you’re a big fan of the series, this movie is for you.
Halloween Ends is very disappointing. Not enough scenes with the main antagonist of the series. Michael Myers barely has 20 minutes of screen time. The whole movie is about those side characters that we don’t really care about. Even the kills are boring as hell. Nothing really original here, and the ending is so underwhelming. It feels like they ran out of ideas with the writing. I think it’s time to put this franchise to rest. The movie was boring and ends in a boring way. Avoid it.
