Synopsis

When Cecilia's abusive ex takes his own life and leaves her his fortune, she suspects his death was a hoax. As a series of coincidences turn lethal, Cecilia works to prove that she is being hunted by someone nobody can see.

The Good

This so-called remake of the invisible man is just awesome. Leigh Whannell  (The director) offers a new take on this story. He manages to create tension with literally nothing on-screen which only a talented director can achieve. Elizabeth Moss delivers a great performance also. Her acting is believable has this abuse woman who tries to run away from her violent boyfriend. Tension, good scares and pacing are well calibrated through the movie. Leigh Whannell is a director to look at in the future.

  • Great tension build.
  • Good performance from Elizabeth Moss.
  • Creative take on this classic story.
  • Very good pacing.

The Bad

The only negative aspect in this movie is that it’s suffering from “movie logic syndrome”. What I mean is that certain scenes or characters decisions are made for the narrative of the movie. You keep seeing situations that would be easily solvable in real life. Characters never rely on security cameras to prove their point. It’s a small detail but still makes you roll your eyes sometimes.

  • Unrealistic decisions made by characters.
