Synopsis

Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster-hunter for hire, journeys toward his destiny in a turbulent world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.

The Good

Season 2 of The Witcher is an improvement over the first. The action is well paced throughout the whole season. Henry Cavill is good as Geralt and looks comfortable playing the character. Also, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer gets this season as much screen time than Henry Cavill. As of the rest of the cast, they give decent performances. The Witcher season 2 delivers more monsters, action and sorcery for you to enjoy.

  • Action packed.
  • More monsters.
  • Better VFX.
  • Entertaining.

The Bad

Unfortunately, the story is very convoluted. You lost track of what’s happening after a few episodes. There are too many stories going on at the same time. I was only interested in a few of them. Also, there is a vibe of silliness in this show. I think the monster’s designs removes credibility. It feels like a CW show (The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow…) sometimes. Another critique is the fact that Henry Cavill seems invincible. You don’t worry at all when he’s fighting beasts. The Witcher season 2 is ok, but it needs a better story and more tension for us to care.

  • Convoluted stories.
  • Sometimes silly.
  • Geralt seems unbeatable.
