The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future.
X-Men 97 is the newest animated series from Marvel on Disney+. It is the sequel to the 1992 hit show X-Men the animated series on FOX. I was very excited to see what they have prepared for us. The 1992 show was so good, they had a colossal task to accomplish. Gladly, they did, in a big way. The show is absolutely amazing. They managed to upgrade the show in every aspect. The characters are masterfully written, the story is well-paced and perfectly segmented into 30 minutes episodes. The scenario is packed with so many emotional moments that resonates with ourselves. The animation is improved in every level. The voice acting is just spectacular. Some voice actors are back from the original series like Storm, Rogue and Wolverine. New characters are introduced and well represented with their respective accents. The music and sound editing are superb and feels like a blockbuster movie. Each of the episodes is so captivating and engaging, you are glued to the screen. I have to admit, it is a similar feeling to the best years of Game of Thrones. Everything is well-thought-out, and the production team clearly made their homework. The source material is faithful to the comics, but they added some clever changes. X-Men 97 is an almost flawless masterpiece that redefines storytelling for any animated series. This is a must-watch!
The only negative is about the amount of storylines they are using. They are burning great storylines from the comics way too fast. They will run out of material quite fast if they continue like this.
