Synopsis

In an effort to repair their relationship, a couple books a vacation in the countryside for themselves and their daughter. What starts as a perfect retreat begins to fall apart as one loses their grip on reality, and a sinister force tries to tear them apart.

The Good

Kevin Bacon is the only good thing in this. I was always a fan of is work, and he gives an ok performance with the material he got. This could have been another Stir of Echoes. Amanda Seyfried is also just alright. The story is intriguing at the beginning. Some cool effects here and there but nothing else.

  • Good cinematography.
  • Some good effects.

The Bad

The story is very convoluted and makes no sense. The characters are so uninteresting that it makes the movie drag for so long. It takes at least 75% of runtime for something to happen. The rest of the time it’s just Kevin Bacon and Amanda Seyfried talking about their relationship. Amanda Seyfried’s character has no purpose in this and has no impact in the story. Nothing is explained in a way for us to understand the purpose on what’s going on. There is a twist so obvious that when it’s revealed you are almost offended by it. This film leaves you clueless on the what, why, and how? This is clearly one of the worst work of David Koepp. The execution needs work, the story is confusing and characters are boring. Overall, avoid.

  • Uninteresting characters.
  • Story needs work.
  • Bad execution.
