Synopsis

At the height of the First World War, two young British soldiers must cross enemy territory and deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack on hundreds of soldiers.

The Good

The cinematography in this movie is superb. Great acting combined with tremendous special effects. You are very well intrigued in the story. Sam Mendes (the director) manage to create very long scenes throughout the film which creates great emersion. Tension is another great achievement by Mendes. You can feel it the entire movie and it’s especially effective for a war movie of this kind. 1917 is ranked up there with all the famous war movies in history.

  • Great cinematography.
  • Great special effects.
  • Great tension throughout the movie.

The Bad

Sometimes you have the impression that you’re watching a video game where the hero reaches certain save points. All those “save points” are noticeable because there is a character in the scene played by well-known actor.

  • Movie as video game feeling of save points.
