Synopsis

This documentary-drama hybrid explores the dangerous human impact of social networking, with tech experts sounding the alarm on their own creations.

The Good

Social Dilemma is indeed a very provocative documentary. It talks about how social media is deeply impacting our lives. I have to admit that I didn’t know what to expect from this feature. I was pleasantly surprised on how good it is. All the interviews are very interesting and explicit. The adding of some simulations sequences makes the documentary entertaining. It opens yours eyes to plenty of aspects you didn’t know about. You are shock and intrigue on how social media is using data to control our behaviors. I like the fact that they didn’t shy away from pointing fingers at huge corporate companies. This documentary is very well-made, the production is excellent and the questions in interviews are relevant. Every aspect is well explained and makes it easy to understand for anyone who’s not familiar with technology. Social Dilemma is a must-watch for everyone.

  • Great production.
  • Good interviews.
  • Very well explained.
  • Very intriguing.

The Bad

Even though this documentary is excellent, I feel that we only scratched the surface on this subject. I think they could’ve gone way deeper and reveal more things in those companies. Also, it would’ve been good to have interviews with current executives or employees but I understand why it wasn’t possible.

  • More info on subject.
  • No interviews with current executives or employees.
