Synopsis

Two small-town aspiring musicians chase their pop star dreams at a global music competition, where high stakes, scheming rivals and onstage mishaps test their bond.

The Good

Before seeing this movie, i didn’t know anything about this Eurovision contest show. So i had a fresh look of what this contest is all about and how long it existed. Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams does a good job representing the duo Fire Saga. They have great chemistry and you kinda believe that they are a duo. Even the songs from the duo gets better with time. Will Ferrell is hilarious as always and Rachel McAdams does also very well in the comedy genre. The whole casting is great in the film. Pierce Brosnan plays well the Stoic father of Will Ferrell’s character. Dan Stevens is awesome in is part also. Everybody fits perfectly in their roles and the multiple cameo’s only adds to the mix. You can feel that director, David Dobkin, has experience in comedies. The pacing is fast and great because you are never bored throughout the movie. The jokes are on point and not offensive. Overall, good light comedy and a great homage to the Eurovision contest.

  • Great chemistry between Ferrell and McAdams.
  • Good jokes.
  • Good funny songs.
  • Good performances from whole cast.
  • Great pacing.

The Bad

Story is very predictable. There’s maybe too much cameo’s from former contestant of Eurovision. Some scenes are shot with a hand held camera which i notice a couple of times. The antagonist of the story is useless and easily dispose in a laughable way.

  • Predictable story.
  • Useless villain.
  • Some technical flaws.
