Synopsis

An ex-soldier, a teen and a cop collide in New Orleans as they hunt for the source behind a dangerous new pill that grants users temporary superpowers.

The Good

Project Power is very entertaining. Plenty of action throughout the film. Jamie Foxx owns every scene he’s in. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is being… Joseph Gordon-Levitt! No complaint there, he is always consistent in his performance. The special effects are very good for a Netflix movie, I was surprise. Project Power is a movie that will not make you sleep for sure.

  • Lots of action.
  • Entertaining.
  • Jamie Foxx delivers.
  • Great special effects.

The Bad

If there’s a word for over-editing a movie, it should be Project Power. Too many close-ups and shots showing you the effects of the power pill. After a while, we get it. The production is good  but it lacks a soul, if that makes any sense. What I mean is the story has good ideas but not well executed. The pacing is just way too fast. Some characters become best friends so quickly, it’s absurd. The movie doesn’t take the time to explain how exactly the pill works. Also, you don’t know who’s the villain in this film. There are several antagonists but you’re not quite sure who’s in charge. Project Power is a convoluted movie that could’ve been much better if the pacing was slower. Watch it if there’s nothing else.

  • Tiring editing.
  • Lacks soul.
  • Story is convoluted.
  • Pacing is too fast.
  • Easily forgettable.
