A young street-smart, Nathan Drake and his wisecracking partner Victor “Sully” Sullivan embark on a dangerous pursuit of “the greatest treasure never found” while also tracking clues that may lead to Nathan’s long-lost brother.
After many years of development, the Uncharted movie finally comes out. Mark Wahlberg was supposed to play the main character Nathan Drake a few years back, but now Tom Holland is starring as the main lead. First off, Holland and Wahlberg have great chemistry and their altercations are always funny throughout the movie. The support cast is decent enough. Sophia Ali does a respectful job as Chloe Frazer. The production is good for a first feature under PlayStation productions. Yes, this movie is based on a video game, but they manage to bring a lot of entertainment without screwing up too much the essence of the games. There are some changes here and there, but it still remains a treasure hunt adventure. Uncharted is a fun movie, and I wasn’t bored at all. Plenty of actions, comedy and treasure hunting. I recommend people to see it.
Mark Wahlberg didn’t really make an effort to play his character. He’s basically playing himself. On the other hand, Tom Holland is good as Nathan Drake but, it feels more like a version of Peter Parker. Also, the treasure hunt aspect could have been better. It looked a little too easy to find all the mysteries. There is also a scene in the airplane that literally made the plot worst. Uncharted’s story lacks creativity and mystery. Hope they fix those mistakes in the sequels.
