Synopsis

A superintendent of a school district works for the betterment of the student’s education when an embezzlement scheme is discovered, threatening to destroy everything.

The Good

I was surprised by this movie. i didn’t know anything about the true life story behind it, so i was chocked on how terrible those people were. The movie does a great job on adapting the real life story of  Frank Tassone. Hugh Jackman gives us a superb interpretation of this character. Allison Janney also gives a strong performance and you believe they are like that in real life. The production is well-made and its kind of unusual to see Hugh Jackman in a small scale movie like this one. It’s a light movie that i was intrigue all the way through, i strongly recommend.

  • Great performances.
  • Great adaption of true story.

The Bad

Some details demand more explanations because we don’t truly see all the facts from the original story. You just accept it and make your own interpretation. Also, i was a little lost in the story at the beginning of the film but i quickly understood everything half-way. Telling this story in 2 hours only is hard.

  • Lack of details.
  • A bit confusing at first.
